FAA A&P 응시 준비

A&P 응시를 준비해보려 한다. 언제가 될지는 모르겠지만..

 

필요한 사항:

 

경력으로 응시를 하려면 Form 8610-2를 작성해서 FSDO 의 승인을 받아야 한다. 대한민국과 달리 응시 자격을 받지 못하면 시험 응시 자체가 불가능하므로..

 

FAA A&P, 즉 Mechanic이 되기 위한 자격 요건은 14 CFR Part 65 Subpart D Mechanics에 규정되어 있다.

 

Subpart D - Mechanics

§ 65.71 Eligibility requirements: General.
(a) To be eligible for a mechanic certificate and associated ratings, a person must -
(1) Be at least 18 years of age;
(2) Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, or in the case of an applicant who does not meet this requirement and who is employed outside of the United States by a U.S. air carrier, have his certificate endorsed “Valid only outside the United States”;
(3) Have passed all of the prescribed tests within a period of 24 months; and
(4) Comply with the sections of this subpart that apply to the rating he seeks.

(b) A certificated mechanic who applies for an additional rating must meet the requirements of § 65.77 and, within a period of 24 months, pass the tests prescribed by §§ 65.75 and 65.79 for the additional rating sought.

 

나이는 18세를 넘으므로 통과.

영어를 읽고 쓰고 말하고 이해할 수 있으므로 통과.

24개월 내에 명시된 시험을 통과해야 함 - 시험을 봐야함.

받고자 하는 분야의 Rating에 대한 요건을 만족해야 함.

 

 

필요한 경력 요건은 Section 65.77 Experience requirements에 명시되어 있다.

 

§ 65.77 Experience requirements

Each applicant for a mechanic certificate or rating must present either -

(a) An authenticated document from a certificated aviation maintenance technician school in accordance with § 147.21 of this chapter; or

(b) Documentary evidence, satisfactory to the Administrator, of -
(1) At least 18 months of practical experience with the procedures, practices, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in constructing, maintaining, or altering airframes or powerplants, appropriate to the rating sought; or
(2) At least 30 months of practical experience concurrently performing the duties appropriate to both the airframe and powerplant ratings.

 

상기 경력 사항은 경력 증명서를 회사에 발급 받으면 증빙이 가능.

 

FSDO에 연락을 해서 인터뷰 일정을 먼저 잡아야 할 것 같다.
